Wow...what a night!

The awards shows have been on fire this year.  I've NEVER enjoyed them so much as this year.  The Maclemore/Ryan Lewis performance with the group marriages was amazing.  That was by far my favorite moment of the night, and believe me there were many.  I am a huge Maclemore fan and loudly cheer every time they win something after they came so far with no "professional" studio/manager, type deal.

Let's start with Katy Perry in that AMAZING dress before the show even began, Taylor Swift looked gorgeous as well.  I absolutely love her without the red lipstick.  P!nk's performance was amazing, I don't know how she does all of that and sings so wonderfully and powerfully.  When she joined up with Nate at first, you could tell it was taking a toll on her and then she recovered hugely!    Lorde's performance was awkward to watch.  She looked nothing like her video so that was strange to see, also I still am not quite sure if she was actually singing or lip syncing.  The backtracks were obvious and once they let us know they were there, it made you question everything she sang after that honestly.

I was really disappointed that Daft Punk won SO many awards.  That song was great, don't get me wrong but it was ONE song, and so many of these artists had multiple hits per album and it felt like a snub to me.  I also love Kacy Musgraves but honestly she only had one big hit off of that album so far, yes another is on the radio but it hasn't had the success.  I also thought her performance was boring to watch.

Imagine Dragons was just incredible, I wish it had just been them because I LOVE that song but it was such a great performance.  They blew me away once again.

Ozzy was hilarious on stage, it was good to see him.  He was so sweet pre-Grammy's as well talking about his little girl Kelly.  The Metallica ONE performance was amazing, but I spent the first entire minute with my jaw dropped at how OLD they look, and you know what, that means I am OLD lol.  I grew up on and with Metallica and to see them grey and looking so mature was crazy.  They still killed it though, it was a great performance.

I can't even remember everything, but I loved the Willie Nelson performance with Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard and Blake Shelton.  It was a little off at times, but the audience got involved and the sentimental element of those songs was awesome.

Taylor Swift looked so pretty in her second dress as well.  The head banging was cool ONE time after that it was a little awkward to watch.  She was amazing as usual though. She is so extremely talented and I love how she is always up dancing and singing and involved in the other performances.  I will never understand the hate she generates other than it must be jealousy because you cannot deny her talent, her generosity and the fact that she's managed to stay classy among a group her age who are so not.

Beyonce and Jay Z's performance was great, I'm not denying that, but for me, why does she always have to be hanging out of her clothes.  I really am no prude but I really don't care to see her ass from every angle possible.  I like to watch these shows with my children and I hate that at the 8 pm hour it had to be "sexy" to start the show.   I felt like the Robin Thicke and Chicago collaboration was all about helping to fix his image post Miley.  I felt like he stepped over the legendary Chicago and didn't give them enough spotlight, that was disappointing to me.  However, I loved the collaboration with Daft Punk, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder.  I totally felt like they payed him proper respect and it was an amazing performance.

Hunter Hayes was awesome, I loved the quotes in the background behind him and knowing the meaning of his song and what he went through makes it all that more powerful. Katy Perry has my heart.  That girl is FIERCE.  I just love her and even more so after watching her movie and knowing her struggles.  I loved her performance  Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr was awesome, so great to see them for sure.  I loved seeing Yoko grooving in the audience too.

All in all it was totally worth how exhausted I am today and all of the wiggling and yawning and coffee it took to sit still that long and stay up until the very end.  I would watch it over and over again, well most of it!
